In the artist Alley you’ll get a chance at meeting aspiring artists who’s come from far and away to show and sell their works of art!
This year the Artist Alley is sponsored by the danish comic and manga magazine Comic Party. This has made it possible to invite a japanese manga artist and illustrator to visit J-Popcon. You can read more about Comic Party (in danish) here.
Yamazaki Urita is the creator of the manga Lost and Found (exclusive for Comic Party) and is as an illustrator for the japanese roleplaying games company TommyWalker with characters and backgrounds. She is also planning to publish a book with illustrations next year.
She will visit J-Popcon all three days, and you can meet her in the Artist Alley, where you can watch her working with manga drawing and illustrations. We are planning several workshops where Yamazaki Urita will tell about her work and about the many freelance manga illustrators who work with unique and different things for the games- and manga industry in Japan. A part of the japanese popculture that is not known by many.
At J-Popcon 2011 the Artist Alley is placed in the friendly hallway next to the main entrance inside the DGi-byen. This makes it possible for all J-Popcon visitors, to experience the many quality drawings and illustarions, in a friendly and spacious evironment.
Prices will be given to the best artwork in the Artist Alley. And as a visitor, you can sit down and make your own manga or illustration artwork.
