Competition: J-Popcon Moods

Feb. 14, 2013

Help shape the look of J-Popcon and win a membership for the next convention.

Are you good a drawing? Do you want to show your talents and maybe win a full membership for the J-Popcon? Then this competition is just the thing for you!

This year we call on all interested participants to help us form the look of J-Popcon with your own creative expressions under the overall theme "J-Popcon Moods". We want to see the best drawn depictions of the moods at J-Popcon and it is up to you to catch them!

This is how it works

  • You have a month from now to think about what makes the special "J-Popcon mood" and start drawing on paper or a computer.
  • You bring a printout or a copy of your original drawing in the best quality, A3 size to J-Popcon 2013 and hand it in at the reception. Your drawing will be exhibited during the convention so everyone can enjoy your work.
  • On the back of the drawing, in the lower right corner, you must write your full name and the title of the drawing.
  • When you hand in the drawing in the reception, you should also include a piece of A4 paper with your thoughts behind the drawing. Why did you choose your motive? Remember to include your full name, the title of your drawing and your cellphone number on this paper, so we can contact you if you win!
  • You must turn in your submission no later than sunday March 17th at 11 am.

Competition rules

  • Everyone can participate
  • You may only submit one drawing.
  • You may only participate as yourself – you cannot turn in a drawing on behalf of others.
  • You may draw on paper, on your computer or a mix of the two. All techniques are allowed.
  • You may not reuse (or directly copy) other people's work.
  • You have complete creative freedom in the competition. Your motive may be as abstract as you want or you can depict a scene from the convention. Choose what you think best represents the moods of J-Popcon.

We encourage all participants to use their own experiences and ideas with J-Popcon.

We reserve the right to exhibit all received drawings at future J-Popcons.

Judgement

We will look at techniques and the degree to which you capture the spirit of J-Popcon when we judge submissions. This year the competition will be judged by J-Popcon staff and an external judge.

The best submission will be published on our website after J-Popcon 2013, along with the submitted descriptions. All artist will be credited with full name.

We look forward to receive you take on J-Popcon Moods.
