ProjectChu performs at J-Popcon 2011

July 28, 2011

ProjectChu is a Swedish youth group that dances, sings and performs to Jpop and Kpop music, they also perform to Japanese anime related songs.

A surprisingly large number of Swedish people are secretly interested in Asian music- secretly meaning, to sing, dance or listen to Asian songs in public isn’t yet entirely accepted or known in a European community, as those of Sweden. After realizing that hard-core K-pop J-pop fans hadn’t a place where they could express their passion and were only supporting their idols underground, a spontaneous idea came to question to our two presidents, Natalie Choudhury and Charlie Beer: WHY NOT?

Ever since June 2010, ProjectChu have been having weekly practices in both singing and dancing. With the dance numbers they practiced, the young teenage members of ProjectChu made their first live performance in Meuwcon 2010 and latest at Uppcon 2011 in Sweden.

Learning choreographies, singing songs and planning performances are all highlights of the association but the best of all the goods must be none other than the members themselves!

“We share the same dreams, and thanks to this, some kind of special bond and friendship grew and is still growing.” –Soni, ProjectChu Member
